Do you have to push away the clutter on your bathroom countertop so that you can remember what it looks like? It seems like bathrooms never have enough storage space. Plus, there are so many things that are easiest to store in the bathroom.
From makeup to shaving products, soaps, face washes, lotion, and tooth-care items, clutter
builds up fast! In addition, other bathroom essentials like toilet paper, towels and washcloths also need a home.
So, how can you organize the mess?
With the right tricks up your sleeve, you can organize even the smallest bathroom, leaving your countertops clear and your products easy to access. Here are 3 strategies you can use to help whip your bathroom into shape:
1. Use Space Creatively
If you think your only storage options are in your vanity’s drawers and cabinets, your world is about to change. There are lots of other creative spaces you can use to stash your items away. Here are a few ideas:
- Vertical Shelving: Put in shelves above your toilet or on any of your bathroom’s walls. Have them go right up to the ceiling!
- Above Door Shelf: There’s a small space above your door that’s very rarely used. Put a shelf up there where you can store seldomly used items or extras of bathroom essentials such as toilet paper, shampoo, and soap.
- Back of Door: The back of the door is perfect for your towel racks. You might also consider using a shoe organizer in which you can place a whole range of items.
- Mirror Cabinet: You’ve probably heard of medicine cabinets with mirrors as an option for storage space. This is a great organizational hack. But, you can do the same with a full-length mirror as well, giving yourself loads more storage space.
2. Hang It!
For smaller items in the bathroom, magnet strip hangers are the perfect solution. Your scissors, tweezers, nail trimmers, and more can all be stored on one of these convenient strips. Even bobbie pins won’t escape the pull of a magnet strip and will stay perfectly organized.
Hooks are also great for hanging washcloths, bath poufs, and little baskets into which you can stash everything from your hair dryer and hair ties to makeup items.
Don’t forget to use the inside of cabinet doors as an ideal spot for hooks and magnet strips!
3. Separate Items
Your drawers and counter space can easily get disorganized because you haven’t separated items. Use dishes, baskets, trays and drawer organizers to keep your items neatly stored.
If you plan on keeping items on your countertops, it’s especially important to use a tray, basket or bowl. This will help you contain your clutter by offering a designated space to put items.
Baskets are also perfect for hiding items and keeping your shelves neat without too much effort on your part. For example, you can put all of your make up in one basket you can simply grab off the shelf every morning.
With a good organizational system, even the worst bathroom clutter can be contained. So, take some time to work this one out. After one good clean and organization session, it will be easier to maintain going forward.
